I have noticed that the Weather Plus add-on for NVDA finally got a good update system, and I have also noticed capitalization
errors in the days of the week and Months of the year. This is noticed when I copy the forecast to the clipboard.

I'm basically just putting this out because I have written the developer about it and nothing has been
done. I wrote him some time back, just sayin'.

Ah, ok. That should be no problem to fix, I guess some strings have to be corrected in the py file.

I figured it wouldn't be a big deal, but getting it done, well, that seems to be another matter altogether.

It is a huge relief not having to rename the zip file any more, so, yeah, progress.

Yeah, but that was strange with the zip file, because I always get it as addon, and I also had no problems
with the way it was before, but it is indeed simpler, and therefore nice.

Indeed. I wonder what he means by non-expert user, oh well, glad he made the update simpler for dummies
like me.

In my opinion, it's quite obvious. Non-expert user = Newbie. But you don't really are a newbie, are you?
Anyway, I actually knew it before the new version came out, because, being a translator for this marvelous
Addon, I always get the mail with the changes, and, if needed, the po file with new prompts in the addon itself to be
translated.

I'm not a newbie but I didn't understand that other update system he had.

Yeah, I don't know what was going on with your computer either. I just chose a location and the file
name, and after that, it would get saved as addon without problems. But it is indeed a huge progress,
especially not having to go to the menu to download it. You can now download it directly when NVDA starts,
if the automatic update check is turned on.

Yes, I much prefer it this way, rather than what I was experiencing. When I got that choose file dialog
and chose it, I got a message that the download was canceled. If that makes me a non-expert user, then I'm terribly
glad he fixed it, as I said before.

Yeah. :D. I also noticed his mails are a bit difficult to understand sometimes, because there are
sentences which just don't make sense. I guess he's using an electronic translation service or something.

Ah yes, translating programs. I think Google translate uses the word like there's a can of beer in German when
you say you can do something and translate it, haha! I wonder if translation software will ever come
out of the infancy stage.

Well, I'd say google is the best by far, ever since they switched to google neural machine, which basically
analyzes a whole sentence and then translates it rather than picking bits, which results in a more
gramatically correct translation. But context based translation and the translation of idioms and expressions is a huge challenge for machines. I guess we're digressing
from the actual topic here, though.

Yes, we are, oh well, he he.

Oh, and to an earlier post, this screen reader thread isn't a competition. People have different needs
and preferences in their technology, whatever it might be. There are no winners and losers here, just
discussion of screen readers and add-ons, scripts, whatever.

Does anyone here use a chromebook?

I follow someone on Twitter who uses a Chrome Book, and she says it's wonderful for writing but the Vocalizer voices she has on it keep slowing her computer up and makes it crash at times.

Hi.
I have an android device, and I have to say talkback is pretty cool.
There's also another screen reader on android called shine plus. That one is ok as well.

Wow, cool. I've definitely been thinking about joining the touch screen crowd, and Android would be the way I'd want to go. Shine Plus, interesting.

Does anyone know what Voice Assistant is on Android? Is it a screen reader?

Ah well, never mind. I found out using my new search engine, which is Start Page, thanks to my younger brother for telling me about that thing.

It's Google Assistant, not Voice Assistant, smiles, and I know what that is already, like Siri.

Now, back to the regularly scheduled topic, grins.

Actually, I think that the build in samsung screen reader was called voice assistant before the name was changed to galaxy talkback
