Maybe sooner, 58 is supposed to recover the losses in 57. That is for both JAWS and NVDA users, can't
speak for any others.

I mainly use a mac with VoiceOver, but when I use windows, I mainly use jaws. I use to always use NVDA,
but switched to Jaws after buying it at an NFB convention. It was on sale for $75, so I bought it and
started liking it. Don't get me wrong, I still like NVDA, and use it from time to time, but Jaws has
become my primary screenreade on windowsr. For everyday tasks, though, I prefer the Mac with VoiceOver.

I hear there's a new feature called speech on demand in JAWS. I'm glad they're still being somewhat innovative.

Haven't tried that yet, but to my understanding, it allows you to mute speech until you press a reading
command, such as a say all. It's a good feature if you have some vision, or if you use a braille display.

People who use audio editors will probably like it as well. NVDA says line feed every time I move to
the left or right in Studio Recorder, so that might be more doable with that JAWS thing. Since I don't
have JAWS any more, I'll never know.

I.m using NVDA since 2013 and i.m very happy about it. NVDA is a OpenSource, small Screenreader.

it's giving me no problems but if it's really that bad surely the developers will be able to make it
easier for you? ok it might of given me problems but updates work the way of the world

I don't use JAWS, so I have no way to update that.

I have learned to deal with things the way they are using NVDA, so all is good.

I wouldn't say that. It's just a matter of what you prefer. I prefer NVDA too, but that doesn't mean
Freedom Scientific is a bad company. Yes, they charge a lot for Jaws, but that's just the
way it is with commercial screen readers.

I'm thinking about getting an Android device so maybe I'll se how Talkback works, but for now, I'm still
a PC user only. Well, I have an outdated Motorola Q Windows phone with Mobile Speak Smartphone. It's pretty
good, uses Dectalk.

Yeah, i reckon. It's a weird version of dectalk 4.6.4, I heard it in a blind geek zone podcast.

Hmm, I can't tell any difference from the ones I've heard before. I even have an Dectalk add-on for NVDA that
sounds the same to me. Oh well, some ears are better than others, haha.

I agree with the person that wrote about fs and jaws. I personally prefer jaws, although there's nothing
wrong with NVDA. So, I use it, because it's free and jaws is not.

Yes, just download the bgz archive from grossgang.com and there's a podcast where Mobile Speak and all
that gets shown.
