Hello. I use Virtual Recorder and it is good program. When I check Play tone on record start/stop and I start or I stop Recording, I don't hear a tone. Do you have same problem? I use Windows 10 and I have last version 1.4.0.2. Thanks, Michal.

I never had that problem. Try restarting the program and see if you hear the tone.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but my suggestion is that you try restarting the program. If that doesn't work, try running as an admin. I have no problems with virtual recorder here on Windows 8.1.
How do you reboot your computing machine? You put your feet through the computer screen!
