So, just because I am curious, do you use a Braille Notetaker? If so, which one and why? I happen to
have two, a BrailleNote Touch from Humanware, and an ElBraille from VFO, the company that owns Freedom
Scientific. I like the BrailleNote Touch best, because it is a bit quicker when it comes to word processing.
When I am in a class, I need to be able to get a blank document up quickly, and I can do that quite a
bit quicker on the touch.

Yeah, the Touch is very cool from what I heard in people's podcasts. I've got a Handy Tech Active Star,
which is mainly a braille display, but it has got some note taker functions too. It even has music braille, which lets you create hmf files which
are files containing simple tunes you can read and also hear through its speaker or by connecting headphones
or speakers with a line in cable. But there isn't speech output, so you have to read to get all the info
you need.

The only one I've ever seen and used is the Braille 'n Speak, the 2000 model. I really liked it. I had
the 640 as well but the port thing was broken.

I don't have a braille notetaker. But something disturbs me by VFO. I've seen specs of the el braille.
How could they put such a high price on such a decent tablet, the windows tablet is simply out of date.
Honestly, it shocked me.

Hello everyone,

I haven't got a Braille notetaker, but I would like buy this, but these are very expensive.

I used Braille line in the primary school on the IT lessons.
It used the computer Braille format.

Okay, I have a question and it's about a Braille display.
So I have a Braille Me and it restarts as soon as it's turned on, if an SD card is inserted. The card works fine if I remove it from the device and insert it into a computer, and so does the device withouth a card. I tried inserting a different card but the result was the same. I reset the device to its factory settings; but it didn't work either.
Any advice?

As were said before, everything when comes to braile displays is totaly overpriced. Guys, a bit stupid question: what do you call "braille displays" and what "braille note takers"? here in lt we call every braille device (no matter it's simple one focus blue, or easys or brailsence) as "braille line" if translating word by word.

As far as I understand, a Braille display just allows you to translate everything that's on the screen of your computer.
A Braille notetaker is somewhat simillar like a labtop. You are able to browser the Internet with it download and install apps, books, music, and so on.

Yep, that's exactly it. Some notetakers can be used as braille displays too, which is probably where the confusion came from, but yes, the term braille display is mostly used to refer to a device which has no other functionality than translating into braille what's on the screen of a device connected to it, with the help of a screen reader.

In the case of, say, the Papenmier Braille displays, sorry for misspelling, there's no built-in storage, but there is a keyboard for Braille input to a computer or iPhone or whatever. Note takers will have onboard room for documents and such, usually stored on an SD card or some such media.

I have a Braille Lite Millennium 20 notetaker. I want to upgrade to a better notetaker. I don't know what one to get. they're all very expensive. what note taker is best to upgrade to?

I've got two notetakers laying around, an old braillenote mpower by humanware that is gathering dust on a shelf, and a braille sense u2. For a long time, the braillenote mpower was my go to device for everything, personal stuff, school work, you name it, I did it. About a year ago, my trust braillenote started showing its age, always locking up, losing stuff I'd saved, going back to default settings, or just refusing to turn on. That's when I got the braille sense u2. So far, its a good device, but its in serious need of an update, because a lot of websites that I go on daily can't be accessed by the u2. Every time I try to go to a site like applevis, I get the following message, can't find server.

I had an apex, batarry is shot, and everything I turn it on before it was really really dead just did that deet doot thing, and then this thing I used for school and I reformatted it only had documents on it for dumb text files that I just printed for school then I just played arund with it at home and screwed around in the windows folder and...
