You open iTunes, click on iPhone button, select sounds from those listed folders, press tab a few times and you'll see a probably empty list. Paste the m4r file right there, with controll v. You'll hear a sound when it finished synchronising.

So I would also like to ask how I can convert an mp3 file to a ringtone.

Thanks!

I heard of a program called I ringer which seems to work really well for this. At least I got the impression from that podcast I got this from. The podcast was done quite some time ago though, probably 8 or 9 years ago, so I don't know if the program's still around.

Well, iTunes also has some feature for this purpose; but I don't really remember how it's done.
Thanks...

Ok, so from congerting.
1. Save your ringtone in mp3
2. Open format factory and convert your mp3 to m4r
3. Open iTunes
4. Look for the iPhone button
5. From the treeview menu or whatever it is, select tones and tab until there's a list
6. Paste your m4r into that list
8. Wait until you hear a little sound from iTunes and you are done.
9. You'll find your ringtone when coosing your ringtone on your phone.
Hope it helps.

Of course I know how to convert an mp3 file to an m4r file. I just said iTunes also had this feature somehow.

Enes, I was pretty sure about it :D I didn't mean it primarily for you, but for people who didn't know how to put ringtones on their phones. :)
