I like fantasy and science fiction mostly, but I do like other things too. Some of my favorite authors
are Terry Goodkind, though I haven't read any of his stuff in a long while, Terry Brooks, again I haven't
read him in quite some time either, lots of sci fi authors, a new one I have read is Daniel Suarez, and
much more.

Hmmm, really interesting thread and I'm so glad to see it here.
Hmmm, as for me...
My list will be so long, and, as a result, I'm likely to forget about some positions, sorry in advance.
Firstly, five cycles which are my loves. :)
Rangers Apprentice by John Flanagan, Inheritance by Christopher Paolini, The Lord of The Rings by John Tolkien, Olympic series by Rick Riordan and the trilogy of Fog as well as the Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Zafón.
However, as I mentioned before, the list of books that I like is definitely longer.
Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling of course,
The Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski,
The crown of a snow and a blood by Elżbieta Cherezińska,
The song of an ice and fire by George Martin,
The trilogy of Time by Kerstin Gier,
The trilogy of a Black Wizzard by Trudi Canavan,
All the books written by Ursula le Guin,
And much, much, more.
Sorry for any mistakes in the names' translation, sometimes I wasn't sure of the english titles. :)
Regards,
DP

In my not-so-humble opinion, Stephen King has lost a lot of his talent. His earlier works are much better than his newer stuff.

yeah some authors have let themselves become a complete and utter waste of time. i like audiobooks mainly
for sometimes reading is hard to keep up with

games, games and more games! need one? get one!

I wouldn't say that about authors. Many of them write to sell. And if you don't like something I wouldn't
call that a waist though.

King is bad about putting his political views in his stories. That's bad enough, then he plagiarizes
too, his own work as well as one scene he stole directly from Dean Koontz.

I think many authors do that. Put their political views in a story, or borrow from others. As long
as it's stil original, I mean it fits together in a unique way, then it should be fine.

Yes, but Stephen plagiarized Dean Koontz, that's never good.

Can't say I've noticed.

The scene I mentioned happened in one of Stephen King's Dark Tower books. A spider the size of a woman
slowly came down to someone who was sleeping. This also happened in one of Dean Koontz's books. Just
sayin'.

Oh I see. Have there been any court cases because of that. If he did it on purpose is difficult to say.

I didn't hear of any kind of legal action. I guess Dean decided not to pursue anything.

I've always loved reading and now make good use of Ebooks. Braille used to be my favorite format when
I could use both hands, now I read mostly either audio or ebook . What I really don't like are love stories,
except for one that me and Charles read together called Bodies of Water. I read a lot of crime, suspense,
psychological fiction and some phantasy. Not much historical fiction, but The Name of the Rose is one
of my all-time favorites. I like authors such as Ruth Ware, Paula Hawkins, John Katzenbach, just to name
a few. One book in the genre of humor I particularly liked was The Sellout by Paul Bwatty.

Where do you get your e-books? They are not that easy to find.

ebooks.com is a good source, but I mostly use Amazon Kindle. Have a Kindle Unlimited subscription which
works for me, although the word "unlimited" in that context is a lie as not all books are included in
the program, particularly not the more expensive ones.
