Wątek: how do I stop my tape player from chewing up tapes?

so, about a month ago, I got the tesla albom the great radio contrivercy cassette off of ebay, 2 weeks lator, it gets chewed up, fastforward to now, I made a recording of that same albom with aditional tracks on a blank, a few hours back, I was listening to it, as the last track, stir it up, was starting, the pitch was rapidly going up and down and it sounded like a drunken sailer, it stopped playing all together within 10 seconds, took the tape out and there was tape everywhere, what do I do?

Hmm, do you took out casette from player? Is tape is in one piece, I mean didn't it break? If yes, try put it back to the casette.. Insert your fingers into the two holes in the cassette. there will be small circles with small protrusions inside. When your casette is in the position where the tape is up, try simultaneously turn circles, left hand to the left, right, to the right, when this is not possible and tape are blocking, look on the top of the casette, maybe tape is on correct place :D. IDK, will this description be helpful, but I can't describe this in other way

Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the tape player. Just get some on a q-tip and clean the play heads, pinch roller, and capstan.

Yea, but this tape player pulled out tape from casette, my question, what tape player is this? If some cassette shredder from amazon By playing the tapes with it, you can only harm them

I had the same problem on my old player and it was pretty scary to me. I gave it to my father and he found out that the first tape that was pulled out destroyed something in the tape recorder (some metal was bended) and I had to buy a new one.
