I listen to an audio drama podcast, and one of the characters in the podcast has an effect on her audio to make it seem like she is trying to comunicate threw a special device. Lately I have been wondering how one would make audio sound like this, because it sounds really strange and cool. I will attach a recording, maybie its a simple effect they used?

I anyways wonder how to effect vst projects on yourself? like how do I make it that I have a vsp effect on my microfone which is active when I set my microfone somewhere as input. I know reaper but.

I guess those that produced and wrote the audio drama obviously found it useful. It probably gave depth to the storyline, but I don't know what.

With out spoiling too much of the story line, the phone was created and built in such a way to call someone even if they are in another time, in this case 1989 to 2024. I guess one loses much of your voice quality when you are connecting not only from a long distance, but also from many years ago. The whole story has not ended yet, and this is in season 3 of 4.

About the effect which was presented in a few firsts posts you don't need any vst to sound like radio. Everything which you need is daw or an audio editor with attached equalizer which you can find in any. Now just remove everything below 4000khz, everything abowe 12000, add some distortion like overdrive, some radio noise and you got it without installing anything else.
