Hello everyone,
Does anyone know of a USB sound card with 24-bit support? Here's my situation:
I'm currently using an Olympus DM-720 digital voice recorder as a sound card pass-through connected to a PC. This is then connected to a Y-splitter cable (left and right channels) which goes to two Sony full range microphones positioned outside my window for creating an outdoor stream.
Unfortunately, the Olympus has a rather unpleasant 16-bit noise floor, also known as white noise. This is a limitation of 16-bit audio. At quiet recording levels, the annoying noise of the sound card becomes audible.
For years, I've been looking for a USB sound card with 24-bit support, more importantly, one with a stereo microphone input (TRS connector). While many products on Amazon advertise stereo inputs, my experience has been different. Everything I've tried so far has either had noticeable hiss or lacked a true stereo input.
I even tried the Creative Sound Blaster Play! 3 sound card, which turned out to be disappointing. Not only is it limited to 16-bit, 44.1kHz mono audio, but it also uses a TRRS combo jack, which isn't what I need. I specifically require a TRS connector.
Does anyone know of a product that meets these requirements? Ideally, I'd like to avoid XLR microphones as they introduce additional complexity and potential points of failure.
Thank you very much!

I don't even know that much about this sort of thing, so hopefully there are others that do.
This is 2024, not 2023. Please just leave all drama behind!

Why would anyone answer a question about which doesn't know at all?
