Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could host an IceCast for me, or if there is a completely free hosting provider with no fees. This is something I've been wanting for a few years now.

Just to explain that the topic starter lives in a separate free communistic world.
When you host an icecast server you probably need some storage to upload your songs and some cpu to process them, mix, encode and stream.
Cpu is not a big problem there but you need lots of storage to host a huge collection of songs.
Aprox 4 mb per song which is 400 mb for 100 songs.
But the storage is not the biggest problem again.
Because of listeners.
If you share your radio with someone, every listener would consume internet bandwidth.
If you want an average quality, you will spend aprox 128 kbps per listener per second.
If you have 100 listeners then you need a 128 mul 100 kbps bandwidth just to serve this thing.
12800 kbps is something around 10 or 12 mbps.
But do not forget that your server also needs to be controlled, you need some bandwidth for files to be uploaded via ftp or sftp.
So for a simple radio server you need at least 20 gb of disk, at least 1 or better 2 gb of ram, some adequate ssd because hdd will be slower and minimum 20 or better 50 mbps bandwidth with unlimited monthly traffic.
I cannot tell you the costs in your countries but in Russia such a server is something about 800 rub per month, it is about 10 or 12 usd.
