Wątek: is it somehow possible to let NVDA switch automatocally to another language if text in this language is detected?

hello, the name of the thread is my question. I think I saw this in jaws or something, and I would ask if this is also implimented in NVDA.

no, this is only possible if said language has a different alfabett system, you can switch between like englesh to rusian or englesh to arabic, but something like englesh to german is empossable do to the alfabets being similar.

Depends on where the text is. On webpages or other places with rich markup, the text can be marked up with its language, and then if automatic language switching is enabled yes it can do this. Even if you wanted it to be based on writing systems you have to have a special synth driver to support this, dual voice can, or vocalizer expressive 2 has a detect text based on Unicode characters mode, which lets you pick the assumed language for Latin and CJK scripts. CJK is Chinese, Japanese, Korean. Most modern Korean is hangul, which is always picked up as Korean, but it does still use some CJK characters. I think it always assumes cyrillic is Russian, and devanagari is hindi. There's some kind of add-on that tries to detect text language based on AI and inserts language markers based on that but it never worked for me.

Certain websites aren't programmed properly and language detection, for that reason, is unreliable.

hmm, thanks for the info. just thought that I may can improve my really bad speaking through using sometimes english voice in cosmic rage, as I am playing it very active right now.

you can quickly change your voice, nvda has a plugin, switch synch, which could help you. I use it very often.

that's already default build in with control + shift + NVDA and the arrows, but thank you anyways. I just was looking for an automated metod for IBMTTS, but thanks for the information that it isn't possible for everything, guys.

I think I also had something like that. but I don't know anymore. I only use it, if even (I like the eloquence more), with jaws.

Is this the add-on with the ridiculously long name in the store due to a misunderstanding of what the summary key is used for?

I tried using it once and couldn't get it to work, it gave some kind of import error.

Ye, this plugin could be useful, but even If it worked, I had a problem to set the same speed for all voices. The worst thing was that I didn't want to work very often.

It straight-up breaks all speech on my NVDA, even though it says it supports IBMTTS.
