Most of you probably only know the Prowadnica Foundation because of Elten, and maybe someone also knows that we are the coordinators of the Polish group during the ICC camp.
The foundation's flagship project, however, is a completely different activity, namely research into the use of 3D printing for the benefit of blind people. I am writing about it now not without a reason, as we are slowly beginning to look beyond the borders of Poland with these projects and to establish international collaborations.

In December we have the opportunity to show outside Poland for the first time, and from this place I would like to cordially invite you all to the University of Oxford, UK, where on December 2 and 3 we will have a stand during SMRRF 2023 showing our work so far. I will be there in person, so if anyone wants to get to know each other, this is also an opportunity. :)

And what is it that we are printing? Basically, we try to find as many possibilities as possible. So these range from Braille signages and QR codes put on doors to board games, educational aids, everyday items, but also mock-ups or plans. To give just a few examples, these range from an accessible Scrabble board game, a board for creating chemical structural formulae, tactile models of medieval seals or enlarged copies of Polish coins. In total, there are already dozens of models. All of them are made available to the public under an open-source licence, so anyone with a 3D printer can print them, and we already know of realisations by scientific institutions from various parts of the world, even as far away as the United States or Japan. Printed models can also be purchased from us, of course.

Afraid I won't be able to make it. It sounds interesting though. In south africa, 3d printing is more of an idea, and used for research purposes. Such as building houses.
