I've held off from doing the upgrade to windows 11 until now to wait until most of the bugs have been fixed. How is it? Any different from windows 10? And if so, how?

Back in February I installed it to test it out and I wasn't a big fan.

windows 11 should work fine now. never had any bugs or crash's so far

I like it okay. AT first it was rehiding system tray icons but that seems to have settled down, as well as a few other issues. They do keep meddling with some accessibility things, not bad, just making some things different. I used to use Classic Shell from Ninite but Win 11 broke it for me, so that is no longer on my computer. Sometimes they disable the stereo mix for me, how kind, NOT! But I reenable it when I discover it has been disabled.

it's, ok but the start menu or no, rather taskbar is total bullshit here. When I'm on the desktop and hit tab it first says pane dragging, then nothing, and then start toggle button not pressed. And if you shift tab from the desktop you land in the void. It's kinda stupid but otherwise the system is fine.

Yep, there is that. I always hit Windows b to get to the system tray. And sometimes shift tab works, go figure.

hello!
I am trying to use win11 for a month or slightly more and i still think about going back to win10.
1. yes, there is a problem with pane dragging after desktop.
2. yes, there is a problem with landing in the void when shift-tabbing from desktop.
3. Sometimes when you use win-m or win-d to go to desktop, it does nothing or falls into another window in background. visually it works but nvda notices nothing.
4. when you read long long text and at the same some notification arrives, nvda focuses on nothingness, interrupts speech and prevents you from navigating until you use alttab or somehow move system focus out of this nothingness.

yes, these are most likely problems of nvda, not win11 itself, but anyways they are annoying.

also as i know reastream and reacast do not work in win11, and also equalizer apo has some problems.

ah and one more: if you read terminal and there is some large output (more than one or two pages of text) nvda stops reading new output until you clear output or restart nvdda.

Personally, using windows 11 with the default interface is not a fun experience for me, but installing explorer patcher and setting it back to windows 10 fixes things for you. You can do whatever, even the windows 7 style task switching thing and start menu. The only real problem I had for a while but was easily fided is that my foobar 2000 global commands that used windows and alt with the arrows stopped working, so I had to add ctrl to all of those. That is not a big problem for me since I'm a desktop keyboard user. SOme computers won't run it as well but that is wht my new computer came with, and if it can run it and run it well I might as well.
Anything can work. Just decide how much, or what you would like to subject for said thing to work.

To post 7, do you have the Windows App Essentials add-on for NVDA? If not, that's why you're having some of the problems you mentioned.

My HP laptop is running Windows 11. It runs fine but every now and then it's a bit buggy but no software is 100% perfect.
