so, how many of us have guide dogs, and where did you get them from?
I have a female black lab from southeastern guide dogs in Florida in the United States, she's a little over two, and she's a great worker.

i don't have a guide dog, because well, i really don't know why.
There is no easy way to let someone down. my advice, just find a way to work things out, and maybe it'll all turn out for the good.

I have a guide dog, 2 and half years ol lab from Poland.
Guide dogs are helpful when you have any obscacles on your way, you can go a lot of faster with your dog than with the white kane.
There's a lot of more advantages and of course some disadvantages as well.

@deviousangel24...
In some countries you don't have so many foundations and most blind people knows almost nothing about them.

Africa has a differentprocess on how tey handle their dog guide situation as well. So it seems you go from varely any need to, because of geographic region or cultural situation, to front and center in the U.S. and Canada. But, we in the U.S. don't think about the differences in other countries, cause we don't need to. So we don't until its pointed out to us. Even training styles are different from what I've been told.

For example, a friend of mine that lived in new york, choose to go to a school out of the U.S, cause they had a much more gentler training style, and he needed a much calmer, low-key dog. I don't remember where he went to, but, they had a different system of rewards, and corrections, and to make a right turn, they made a series ofleft turns because, supposedly right turns were harder fr the dog to conceptualize.
