You could try one of the receivers at websdr.org, their controls are quite usable and many of them cover the shortwave bands. By far the best is located at the university of Twente, it is tunable from 0 to 30000 kHz.

If you are looking for real shortwave receivers I suggest to have a look at the Tecsun devices. I own a S8800E and a PL-368, both offer quite good shortwave reception for their price.

Tecsun is a good start, but if PL660 which isn't expensive i thing that only for sw etc, because fm band is Usable but not the best if you want high quality without a lot of noises when using stereo mode.
I can recommend Sangean ATS909 but it's too expensife when if you will begin your sw adventure.
You can try one of some kivi sdrs or web sdr. I started my radio oddities adventure by using it, it's for free and easy to use.
To listen a number stations you need to know when transmission can start and where you can expect it. Check priyom.org for the shedules.
