In your sound settings you'll want to look for something like signal processing effects or something similar and turn them off. In the mike it might make it stereo, if it says microphone array. My old computer was six years old before I found out I had stereo microphones. The signal processing for the speakers is okay, not as critical to turn off. I do have mine turned off on my newer computer, but I have them turned on on the older machine. It has a nine-band graphic equalizer so it sounds better. That computer was really hard to figure out, a long story.
