Oh my gord, It's even on the internet archive. You can basically google for it. My day is made.

It's a pitty that nobody from bavysoft has brushed up on the legal status of this thing. Does anyone here know how long the coppyright would last before it becomes public domain?

So why are the games not available on agarchive.net? Or why can they still be downloaded from archive.org?

I think Agarchive are taking a safe stance so that they don't get in trouble.

Archive.org uses a crawler that indexes and downloads websites. It's entirely automated and doesn't discriminate. Someone likely published it somewhere and the archive found it.

But the problem is that archive.org does not redirect you to another website to download the games. So they are hosted on archive.org itself for download if I get it right.

Not necessarily. As stated previously, archive.org is really just a massive spider network, meaning anything can find its way on to the site pretty much. There have indeed been takedown notices submitted to the site for breaches of copyright and other legal issues.
