Hey there. I am trying the commentary screenreader for Android and I have a little problum. I am using a samsung galaxy a5 (2017) that has the Samsung Experiance interface. On voice asistant and Talkback, yyou swipe up with 2 fingers to switch from the homescreen to the apps screen. How ever, that doesn't work on Commentary. I can use the Google Asistant to open apps, but that is kind of weird to do that for every single app. So, do you guy's know how to do this? Thanks in advance.

lol a bit offtopic but you are that lucky to have voice assistant still? Damn! It is kinda old now but i found it really disappointing how google pushed out android 11 back a year, then talkback stole the voice assistant functions and voice assistant got removed on samsung devices. Especially its interesting sound sceeme was a reason why i liked to use it

Really? I liked Voice Asistant because it was really similar to the iPhone. That is quite disapointing indeed.

O, and I was about to get a galaxy a53 if that commentary problum is fixed. I really don't like talk back. It keepes telling me that apps are active in the bagground and it is almost impossible to enter my pascode, since it keepes saying 'dod' for every number. Well, thanks for telling me anyway.

still another offtopic message but over all i think if you have such a device, enjoy voice asisstant as best as you can. Other thing i love that it is not laggy like talkback is sometimes, or at least on devices i used to have

Well, voice asistant was some times kind of laggy, but that cismaybe because I was using an old phone with an n ld andoid vertion.

You know, the sounds of Voice Asistant were the old sounds of talk back. Not all of them, but a lot of those sounds were from Talk Back. How ever, befor the samsung galaxy s7 they used another soundtheme. That soundtheme is still used on the galaxy watch though.

o yeah i noticed that. But it is still used on newer watch's? that is interesting. Yeah, basically its more talkback sounds the newer the version is. It had its own sounds for heddings, buttons and when you go in and out of lists. Now they were all talkback sounds. But from android 7 on, the woosh sound came i think when you swipe and the woosh sounds with headphones on sounds so cool for some reason

I do wonder why voice asistant was removed. When I switched to android, I was really happy with voiceasistant because the jestures to controle your phone were really similar to the iPhone. O well, that happend and voice asistant isn't removed on the galaxy watch.

o it isn't? Maybe talkback is not supported that's why. But i think samsung thought, well if talkback takes over now, no need to update our screen reader

And that, is why you shouldn't do this.

The reason it was removed is that see at the time when Voice Assistant was created, there were no multi-finger jestures. Now that Talkback has included them with Android 11 (on pixel and Samsung devices.) and android 12 with everybody else... there's no reason to have Samsung do their own screne reader too Although Samsung has their own v ersion version of Talkback updated from the Galaxy store.

wait, they have their own talkback? Yeah but it was kinda stupid that talkback just stole its place and woosh, it got removed. like you didn't even got really a warning

Oh you got wornings. Although if you didn't follow anything on android you wouldn't have gotten them. They do but its pretty much in line with Googles version.
