Wątek: How to get pure recording hiss/noise?

So I often use my iPhone to make and edit both mono and stereo recordings, with Voice Memos and TW Recorder, and then use different software for noise reduction. Thing is, sometimes you can isolate and remove the noise by selecting or capturing a certain duration of background noise with little or no other audio but sometimes you record something constant, like ambient sounds. So I have read that it is the moving electrons within the device's circuits that create this recording noise, and that the noise can roughly be defined as blue noise; but I still need either a more precise frequency range to remove from the recordings, or pure recording hiss with no ambient or any other audio so that I can use it to remove background hiss from any recording. Any way to get either one, or both, of those? Or any other ideas?

Audacity has the noise reduction tool, which works good. Just select some short amount of the part when it's only noise, and in another stage, apply the noise reduction.

I have not used Audacity's noise reduction feature but tried GoldWave for that purpose. It works fine but I already know what you said. My question is, how we can remove the noise if we can't find any section of audio to capture the noise profile.
