Hi
Recently I came across this website that plays this really loud music. I couldn't heare what NVDA was saying. When I press escape, nothing happens. So is there a way to turn off the music completely?
Thanks.

Do you have windows 10 and NVDA? Then you can enable ducking.

O, then I don't know. May be mute your browser in the volume mixer.

I can't find anything to do with the brouser. Only system sounds, and speakers.

It's not important wether you have Windows 8 or 10 for NVDA. NVDA ducking always works.
To use NVDA ducking, do the following:
Press control insert S, then press the tab key twice and then arrow down until NVDA says, "Always duck" and then press the tab key until you reach the OK button and press enter.
Of course, you have to do the same again to unduck NVDA afterwards as it may have an influence on some of your other programs on your computer.

You must go to syntesizer options ctrl+insert+S and press tab key two times. You can find audioducking mode and select using arrows Duck when outputting speech and sounds.
@Hozosh On Win8 and other it working succesfully.

Also in Firefox you can simply press CTRL+M to mute all sounds played by a website.

If you did the thing in the volume mixer that was mentioned, you would have to make sure that sound is playing before its volume control would show up there.

Of course you'd still have the problem of trying to hear the speech while you were looking for it in the volume mixer, ah well.

Yeh I think, the best thing is just to use NVDA ducking. That's what I always do when I come accross such a Web site.

I found a new keybord command for NVDA ducking: NVDA key plus the shift key plus D. Just keep on pressing it to the setting you prefer.
