Hello!

So I have a Samsung TV, although most of the apps can't be used with Voice Guide. Because of this, I'm planning to buy a stick which would allow me to use most of the apps with a screen reader.
I kept looking for such sticks, and then I found the one with the amazon brand.
Can these amazon fire sticks talk, and are the yeasy to set up?
I saw many posts about the fact that they don't include an adapter designed for european users, and they give you only an US one. How do you handle that situation?

Thanks for any ideas or answers!

You can use a standard USB power brick with it since it uses micro usb for power, and it is really easy to set up. Just turn it on, select the proper hdmi on your tv, then on the six button thing, hold the top left and top right ones until it says something. Then just go from there. You will need an Amazon account though, just as you will need a Samsung account for a Samsung or Roku for Roku.
Anything can work. Just decide how much, or what you would like to subject for said thing to work.

Aldenmaster, thank you, your answer helps a lot! :)
Conner, well I already have a samsung tv as you can read it above, so I wouldn't buy a completely new tv for 600 dollars just because it has voice over.

no no lol. the apple tv is like the fire stick. its a 150 doller box that pluggs in to your tv and actually connects through iphone so you can set it up. also, the remote has a tuch screen. not all of it is, but the voice over is amazing

I like roku too. Sort of. There are a few things I just hate about it, like plex and YouTube not being accessible with Audio guide, plus the voice just sounding horrible. I like FireTV because of it's complete accessibility for under $30. Apple TV is good though, and I just don't like SamSung.

Oh, I didn't know that a lot of apps aren't accessible on a samsung tv.
I have but I don't use accessibility features much.
I use it as an airplay/chromecast device.
As people said I think that Apple TV is a better choice.
What apps did you try to use on a samsung tv?

I tried almost all of them, for example spotify, netflix and so on, the only app that works with voice guide is youtube.

I just got a 32 inch Samsung TV for my bedroom. So far, the only app that I found that is not accessible is Spotify.

the apple tv works with the majority of apps that are accessable on your phone.

Radio729, netflix isn't accessible either, just like any other app except youtube. Mine is a 60 cm one, from 2020. Spotify is pretty usable though, if you stream from computer. Just open spotify, and press the OK button once so you will be in the main window. And after that you need to connect to your tv from your computer and it works that way.

OMG, that is so strange that samsung didn't care about accessibility of their tv's.
So you have to buy apple tv to use all needed apps in edition.

They say they care, or at least they seem to care, but most of the apps aren't really usable, except youtube as I mentioned above.

Guys, you can't expect every single app to be accessible. I really think Samsung does care about accessibility. On my TV's remote, next to the Power button there is a Braille letter P and next to Volume Down, there is a Braille letter L. A few of the buttons even have tactile dots on them.

I understand that every app cannot be accessible, but it's strange when nothing is accessible except of youtube and facebook that won't be used on a tv.

Yeah, I also have braille dots on the remote. The thing I laughed at right after I managed to get more channels and stuff, is that in Hungary, and I guess in most of the countries, you need a kind of decoder connected with HDMI to get paid channels. And samsung tvs talk only when you are in TV mode, but after you switch to your HDMI decoder, it tells you only volume stuff and it's unable to read the given settings of the decoder itself. So I memorised the whole layout of the decoder and I control it as if I was sighted, just like the way I used spotify directly from the tv.

lol i got to be onnist, wile that's annoying, its funny at the same time. but for real though, the majority of the apps you have on your iphone, are avalable on the apple tv store app, that's designed just like the apple app store on iphone, accept moast apps support air play, or even air play 2, wich is 100000 times better, so even if a streaming sort of app happens to not be accessable, feal mre than free to simply and efertisly liderly stream to the apple TV through apps that don't even support air play. you could even stream all audio and video from your phone strate through control center, how ever if iphone is something you don't have, i don't suggest getting a apple tv.
