Hey all, have you ever heard of God Mode? God Mode is a list of common tasks that you can do in Windows like change display settings and set the time.
To set it up, create a new folder and copy this long string of text:
GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
Then replace the words "New Folder" by pasting what you just copied into the folder name edit box. and press Enter and enjoy!

yeah I've heard of it but never tried it, pretty cool!
When you're stuck, just try harder.

I've found that god mode seems to change. I copied my last string, the one I had on my old machine to this one. Both are using Windows 10 Professional, and it didn't work on this machine. So, I don't have god mode, which I loved, on this machine.

Make sure you copy the entire string of text.

What does God mode do?

It gives you every setting that is in the control pannel, but in one section.
Anything can work. Just decide how much, or what you would like to subject for said thing to work.

Make sure there's no line breaks or something included. It complained about inadmissible characters when that happened to me.

Yeah, I made sure nothing was there but the characters involved. I didn't get any messages, just a folder called god mode which was empty. On my old computer, it says list item using NVDA, and there are lots of things in it. Also, it doesn't behave like a folder as it does on the new machine.

I've compared the string reported in this thread and the one I copied to put on my old computer. They are identical.

When I try doing this on my new computer, I get renaming two items on the desktop, one interrupted action. The only option I have is skip, which I do after checking the check box that says do this for all.

Today, after the attempt and the same result, pressing enter on GodMode took me inside my user folder.

I think I said in a previous post that I have Win 10 Professional on both machines.

So, this is me, stymied.

I put it in the root of my C: drive. Works like a charm for me. I've used it before years ago, but never actually sat down and explored all its features fully.
How do you reboot your computing machine? You put your feet through the computer screen!

Okay, it works but I have to arrow down to find it, since there's no single-letter navigation for it. It was so nifty on the desktop but at least it's usable this way.

What screen reader are you using? First letter navigation works for me here on NVDA.

I'm using NVDA, and for me, pressing g on the desktop doesn't work either.
