No, there is nothing that prevents this event from being a universal one. But why must the things that we, or users, collect be named Easter eggs? Here you have two options:
1. Every group chooses its own name to call this collected thing, and it is shown with that name to members of a group.
2. The single universal name is not associated with any cultural or religious practice.
I acknowledge though, that the first option may have technical difficulties. So the second one sounds more reasonable, both technically and morally.

I doubt that. Even if that's the case, I talked about the particular situation of this English community.
-- (balteam):
hmm, why? I should guess there is more than 50% people on english group who accept easter eggs.
But in the future it's a good point, maybe if you create your recommended group you can create event which is important for you. Remember, it's only my reflection, I am not elten administration.

Remember, this event is created because now a lot of elten users are after easter and Elten could be more popular because of this event.

I cannot and will not speak for other users here, but I myself don't have a single issue with the goodies being called easter eggs. Not at all. And as Balteam says, I wouldn't have any issue if our developer was a Muslim and decided to celebrate the Prophet's birthday by distributing temporal premium packages here and there. By the way, while Easter is a Christian holiday, many people do celebrate it eventhough they don't reckon themselves as Christians. Most people in my country happily keep the Easter traditions, decorate eggs and go carol, just like most people give Christmas gifts to eachother despite not being loyal to any religion. There should be no need to think that the community is violently imposing people to accept christianity or Christian traditions while neglecting other cultures. And needless to say, whoever disagrees with the idea does not have to take part. This is just completely for fun. :)

The Prophet's birthday? Well a Muslim developer had better organize such a celebration during an eid rather than Muhammad's (pbuh) birthday. For your information, we use the Hijri calendar to keep track of time in a way suitable with our religious practices, which differs from the Gregorian one. One more thing is, while giving away things and organizing feasts are essential in Islam as well, we firstly emphasize praying and thanking Allah for granting us the opportunity to reach the particular day that we're celebrating, and seeking forgiveness.
Also, an actually religious ritual becoming "universal" does not change the fact that it is still religious, like, as I touched upon earlier, English becoming an international language and still being the mother tongue of the Brit and American. Rather, it means that a religious ritual that should actually be practiced by the followers of that particular religion, has become a cultural element for many peoples, and is seen as a worldwide tradition, as a result of cultural imperialism.

And, yet again, as I already said, it is still problematic regardless of whether I participate or not, because the problem is not my being forced to participate but the event being considered a universal one.

Okay, apparently I can't edit my post as I'm not a premium member. So let me clarify that I'm not against such a universal event. Rather, I appreciate the developer's intention to distribute these things through which you get premium features. What I was talking about in my previous post is Easter eggs' having been given during a universal event.

Easter eggs refer to fun little surprises hidden inside software programs. That's why they're called Easter eggs, because they're buried deep inside the program just waiting to be hunted for, either intentionally or purely by chance. Nothing to do with religion whatsoever. Personally, I've never managed to find any Easter eggs in any program. I tried to get one here on Elten, but sadly failed.

To post 29, there's a thread created by Bomberman29, I think that's his user name, that talks about hidden things in Elten. Off topic but there ya go.

Well, I think it becomes kinda religious if done at that particular time of the year. Besides, I already made my point on ostensibly non-religious things.

Read my previous posts and you will notice that I have answered several of the questions asked multiple times, yours included. Please do not attempt to make the same points that I have already responded to. Of course, you're more than welcome to respond to my answers and counterarguments though.
