Hi,

did you try to play a role as blind? What is your experiences? What is difficult or your blindness? Or was it?

I was a member of a group when I was younger, like 11 or 12 years old. I had quite a lot of difficulties, firstly because I wasn't able to play any role I wanted to because most of them required to be sighted. Although my career in that group lasted for pretty a long time, 2 years in fact, and after that I decided to resign because blindness frustrated me more than it should have been.

I remember school concerts. One of them was a story of the first settlers that came to south africa. I remember standing on a platform and having to sing this song. I was scared that I would fall off. Otherwise I never had much experience in these things.

I was in our school play of fiddler on the roof. Yes, I'm not kidding. The W. Ross Macdonnald school did the hole production of fiddler on the roof for 4 nights straite, all being soled out. Everybody in the play was either visually impaired or blind. So in between each sceene, it took a little longer to get into position. But, other than that, spot perfect each time.
All of you are amazing. Never forget it!

I was Timothy in the blind school where I went for only one-and-three quarters of a year, or thereabouts. I only had one line, at the very end. I was six years old and I sang it out loudly and proudly, "God bless us, everyone!" I was also carried on someone's back which I thought was ssuper cool. It was usually my older brother but one time it was someone else, can't remember who it was. the play, of course, was A Christmas Carol, and whoever played bob Cratchet, substituting for my older brother that one time, carried me on his back. I loved that part!

The school was in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the state school for the blind.

I dreamed and dream of voice movies. In my country it's impossible, but American animation studios were ready.

There are blind actors out there. also still schools for the blind where they do productions like those mentioned. Though Fidler is a bit of a health and safety risk nowadays - and Sweney Todd.
I was consultant on a movie, The Map Reader, here in NZ. Also acted ina movie that is not released. that was rather fun!
