Wątek: Accessible VMWare alternatives

Hi humanoids
So, apparently the audio fix tray tool that I use to work around the ungodly Windows 2000/XP audio issue in VMWare doesn't work at all under versions of Windows 10 higher than 1909. The program runs, but the audio in the guest OS still remains as slow, choppy and annoying as hell. I call it the darlek audio issue, because that's exactly what it sounds like.
I'm wondering if there are any accessible alternatives to VMWare that I can use as a result of this. I've heard bad things about both Hyper-V and Virtualbox in terms of accessibility. From what I understand, Virtualbox uses QT, which isn't the best when it comes to screen reader accessibility. If there are no other accessible options, is there another audio solution I can use, or a way to get the audio fix tray to work as it should?
By the way, if anyone wants, I'm more than happy to post a recording in this thread so you can see (or hear in this case) just how sucky the audio is. Be warned, however, that you may experience headaches after listning to it.

In the Windows VM, try to play c:\windows\media\tada.wav and don't close Mediaplayer after finishing playing.

I really don't like that method though. Having that clunky program running in the background doesn't appeal at all. Also it doesn't work in secure screens, so startup and shutdown sounds are still affected.

Use virtual box.
Anything can work. Just decide how much, or what you would like to subject for said thing to work.

Oracle Virtualbox has terrible accessibility from what I've heard.

Yes, it has it's issues. I don't use it, I just go for vmware, but it's there for the ones who need it.

Strange. But the Mediaplayer played the file, right?

The tool mentioned by Seedy TV actually works. You need to run it in the VM though and make sure you have dot net framework 3.5 installed in the VM. He really helped me out in another topic I created.

One downside with that, though, is it won't work on secure screens, such as the Windows XP Logon screen. Unless you have your VM set to automatically log you in without you entering your credentials, and have the tool set to run at startup, then you're fine.

I think with latence she didn't mean the breaking but the half second latence that you have in vmware which makes audiogame playing almost impossible and is a pain in the ass.

No, I was highlighting a spelling error. Latency is spelled l, a, t, e, n, c, y, not l, a, t, e, n, c, e.

What about downgrading VMware, that stuff just affect vmware 13 and later.
Windows XP forever!

It doesn't. It's a Windows 8+ issue.
